2010 - A Musical Retrospective

Well 2010 is about done. It has been a year of joy and a year of sorrows for me and mine. As I get ready for the New Year to come I am releasing this 12 song collection of improvs mostly from posts at ImprovFriday, as a clearing of the musical pallet. Here is wishing the very best to you all in the New Year,
                                  Peace Out,
                                                   Jeff

In Memory of Kim Flint

I received the sad news this past weekend of the untimely passing of Kim Flint due to a tragic bicycle accident. Kim was among other things the founder of Looper’s Delight, an Internet mailing-list and website.

DigItsignal's "Absence of Being" released

The first CD by the virtual World (literally) experimental band DigItSignal. Five musicians connected together via Ninjam, performing their spontaneous moment to moment musical/tonal reactions to each other over the thousands of miles apart with a feel that they are all together in the same room.

DigItSignal is:

Peter Thörn (Sweden) - saxophone, flute, nyckelharpa, piano and 'found' sounds
Jim Goodin (USA) - violin, fretted/fretless guitars, oud, wood flute, loops
Ray Istorico (USA) - electronic drums
Jeff Duke (USA) - guitar, oud, electronics, loops
Steve Moyes (England) - guitar, cello, xaphoon, computer processing

Jeff Duke and Gaetano Fontanzza are "UsIt"

Psuedo Ambient Music, the blog of my good friend and musical collaborator Gaetano Fontanzza has a great write up on our new virtual duo "UsIt" and it's new release "Approaching". Here is a translated page for my English speaking friends: Psuedo Ambient Music - UsIt
Original italian text: Psuedo Ambient Music - UsIt
This release was all improvised via an online musical jamming software called Ninjam.
We have never met but our musical dreams share the same spaces. We will soon be meeting for the first time when we play together live in October. More on that as details become available.
"Approaching" is available as a pay what you like digital download here: http://usit.bandcamp.com/

Gaetanos Fontanzza's very fine new solo release as Psuedo, "Dashdot" is available here: http://pseudo.bandcamp.com/
